Review of Villa Idea, Anse Kerlan, Praslin, Seychelles

We booked this self catering villa on airbnb.com. Link to the property:
Spacious and affordable villa in Anse Kerlan, Seychelles

The host George has 2 villas next to each other and both are exactly the same in design and appearance. The place is around  2km  from the Praslin airport and is located near the Anse Kerlan beach on the west coast. Beach is 5 min walk from the villa, though sea is hardly a few steps walk.

There is a supermarket, bakery, car rental agency and a bus stop within 5 min walk-able distance. Location wise it’s quite a good place. There are no restaurants though, but island pizzeria delivers for a delivery charge of 50 SCR.

The house has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1 kitchen and a living room. There is a lawn outside for car park/ kids to play around.

George is a very good host and helpful without being intrusive. He picked us up from the airport (offered to drop too, but we had the rental car). He does that for most of his guests who arrive by flight. He even dropped us to Constance Lemuria hotel so we could go to Anse Georgette beach.

He also stocked the house with a 5 litre water bottle, bananas and fresh coconuts. The kitchen had basic necessities like tea/ coffee bags, sugar, salt and oil; which was very good because buying small quantities for 3-4 days stay is difficult. With our previous airbnb experience  at Mauritius, we even carried dish washing liquid, but George’s kitchen was self sufficient. There were enough utensils. He even provided us with a rice cooker and pressure cooker because we mentioned we needed to cook vegetarian food.

I loved the fact that he even kept beach towels and cloth pegs for drying. He had taken great care to make his guests feel comfortable.

The property  was supposed  to have free WiFi but there was some issue with his connection. So he provided us with a SIM card(worth 100 SCR) that we could get topped up for our use.

All in all, an excellent property at affordable rate in Praslin. If you would like to book a rental apartment through airbnb, you can follow this referral link to signup and get Rs.1000 airbnb credit.
