Steps to register for rocket launch gallery, Sriharikota

How to watch rocket launch in Sriharikota

ISRO has a space theme park in SDSC (Satish Dhawan Space Center), SHAR and is going to allow selected number of Indian citizens to watch the rocket launches from the viewing gallery. The viewing gallery has a clear line of sight of the 2 launch pads.

Follow the steps below to register for any rocket launch:

Step 1: Visit https://lvg.shar.gov.in/VSCREGISTRATION/

The link is closed after the registrations are complete so keep track of the dates. The launch date is announced in newspapers and/ or websites. Important websites to keep track are:

Click on the button “Click here for registering to witness ….”

Step 2: Enter your email ID. Note that this has to be a valid email ID because registration link is sent on this ID.

Step 3: Click on the registration link sent to your registered email ID.

A confirmation pop-up opens. Click OK to proceed.

Step 4: Enter your visit details. This requires you to fill in details like Individual visit or Institute visit, number of people, mode of travel and your vehicle number (if any).

For individuals, maximum of 5 people can register together. If you have a group of more than 5, you may need to fill more forms.

Step 5: Enter the primary visitor information.  This includes name, ID Type and number, age and gender.

Valid ID types: Aadhar Card, Driving Licence, Voter ID, Passport, State Govt Issued ID Card, Central Govt Issued ID card or Institution ID card. This needs to be a photo ID and has to be carried during launch to gain entry.

Step 6: Enter primary visitor contact details. This includes mobile number and address. Email ID is pre-filled and is non-editable.

Step 7: Read and accept the terms and conditions. Check the acceptance checkbox and click on “Next” button.

Step 8: Verify Captcha and click on “Submit” button. A registration number is generated. Note this number for future reference.

Step 9: Enter details of the group members. If you registered for more than 1 person, you will need to enter details of all the visitors within 3 hrs of filling the form. Failing to do so will result in cancellation of all passes except the primary visitor.

Step 10: Print the visitor pass generated.

In case you missed taking the print, you can visit https://lvg.shar.gov.in/VSCREGISTRATION/ again and click on the button “Click here for print”. Enter your registration number and print the pass.

Your registration is done.

Things to carry when visiting the launch site:

  1. Copy of the visitor pass that mentions the name and details of all the visitors.
  2. Photo ID card of every visitor. This has to be the same that you mentioned while registering.

Note: The seats for the online registrations are limited and are allocated on a first cum first serve basis, so hurry. If you would like to view it from outside SHAR, you can check this post:

On the spot registrations also happen if the gallery seats are available. Carry all your documents in case you can register on the spot.

    i did not note it while registering.

    i wonder if they would allow us to visit space museum as well on july 22nd 2019 when we register for the rocket launching..
    Also let me know what all sites we are allowed with this registration within the premises.
    please help me with this info.

    • i just got confirmation from the SHAR (contact no: 7382768500) , they says that people who registed are allowed only to watch launching but not space museum and rocket garden for now.

  • I am also interested to witness the re- scheduled Chandrayan 2 moon mission from Sri Harikota launching station ! I am coming all the way from Jamshedpur , Jharkhand !

  • Please tell me if any public transport from sullurpet railway station to sriharikota on 14th July. After 9pm. In the occasion of chandrayan 2 mission launch.!!!

    And r they (SHAR) arrange any PUBLIC TRAVELING FACILITY FROM SULLURUPETA TO SRIHARIKITA ON 14TH JULY , AT LAUNCHING TIME (9PM).?????

      Hope you have already registered for the launch. Also, the launch is scheduled at 2:51 am on July 15th (late in the night on 14th July). For the launch in May at 5:30am, SHAR was running a shuttle bus from Sullurpeta Bus stand to Launch View Gallery. This is the email that I had received before the launch:

      Congratulations on registering for witnessing PSLV-C46 Launch scheduled at 05.30 am on 22.05.2019 (Wednesday Early hours) from SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota. For convenience of out station visitors APSRTC buses are being operated from Sullurpeta Bus stand to Launch View Gallery, SHAR Sriharikota from 02.30 am to 04.30 am (early hours of 22.05.2019) on payment basis, same will return back at 06.30 am to Sullurpeta Bus stand. Please ensure to reach venue 2 hours prior to launch for hassle free experience.

      I am expecting they would be doing the same for Chandrayaan-2 launch too. You will have to wait for their email on this.
